Tamga Wallet

Tamga Wallet and Tamga Network

Tamga Wallet is the first wallet on Tamga Network. They are separate: the network keeps the rules and the trust list, and the wallet works by those rules.

What is Tamga Network?

Tamga Network is an independent, non-profit trust network for the Turkic world, to be transferred to a foundation. It provides the shared rules, the signed trust lists and the open-source packages that let institutions issue documents, websites and readers verify them, and wallets work together.

Where Tamga Wallet fits

  • A separate product: Tamga Wallet is developed and operated by BROS İNŞAAT SANAYİ VE DIŞ TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ. The wallet is not part of the network.
  • The network lists wallets, it does not run them: the network runs no wallet's app, server or website. It knows a wallet only by its entry in the signed trust list.
  • The trust list entry: Tamga Wallet's wallet provider (provider.tamgawallet.com) is registered on Tamga Network's trust list. Institutions and verifiers recognise the wallet by this entry.
  • No special treatment: Tamga Wallet joins the list the same way as any other wallet. Every wallet that follows the network's rules can receive documents from the institutions on the network.

What it means when you use the app

  • The institution you receive a document from, and the website or reader you show it to, are read from Tamga Network's trust list. The wallet does not accept documents from institutions that are not on the list, and it clearly warns you if a verifier that is not on the list asks for a document.
  • The identity service you verify your identity with is a shared network service, open to every listed wallet on the same terms.

For developers: the sandbox

Tamga Network has one test network: sandbox.tamga.network. Wallet, institution and verifier developers try the network's rules there with sample institutions and made-up people. Tamga Wallet works with the sandbox too: switch to the test network in Settings → Developer → Network. Details and technical documentation at docs.tamga.network.
